How is this possible? Aren't those E55 times? Isnt that above and beyond the new M3? The car is modded right? My friend who has a 335i is trying to tell me that this is stock. Tell me it isnt so.

I didn't even watch the vidoe but threre is no chance, none, zero, nada that a stock 335 will do under 4.2 0-60. I had an M5 and a gtech and the best I could get was 4.45.

modded 4 sure but just with ecu. For less than 1k you can make the 335 as fast and perhaps slightly fasterthan stock 63 or 55

Found a 335i with mods claim a 1/4 mile of 11.9 at 115.93 and 428hp/439tq
at dragtimes (if the above is true- it's not stock).

I work on 335s at my shop. they have lots of potential but they are not as fast as some people claim. They still run 13s and 12s with piggy back ecus that kick the boost up to 15 psi sometimes as much as 18 or more.. Yes there are a few that have dipped into the 11s. But that is on race gas, very high boost, catless downpipes, intakes, drag radials and likely some type of weight reduction.

I just picked up a 335i sedan, the best I could do was like 4.9, 0-60. Not too shabby, but the car runs out of breath on top.

1. What is Gtech? I checked online and I couldnt find anything.
2. Jangy and Thericker. I see you're both in SoCal and I'd love to meet up for some runs with you guys. I havent done much drag racing but I'm trying to get into it. I'd love to tag along with you guys.

I agree with what he said....

You'll see many 335's mostly stock.. due to the crazy BMW dealers going after the tuners.

but in So Cal.. probably a good portion with some sort of piggy back.. probably an intake or mild exhaust mods.

a very few with dp's, FMIC, Oil Cooler, no cats..

Don't forget that BMW has Dinan, which matches new car warranty 100%! I'm going to pay them a visit next week for an ecu flash myself. I wish Mercedes had a tuner that backed their products like that!

Those 335 guys in SO Cal are a nightmare..Even when I had my ZCP M3 they wanted to race me. With my M they seemed to close but I never lost. With the E55 they bark at me too and get beaten hard.
I guess non of them have been chipped because they get killed..when I have the E55. Now like the guy in the vid said, To all the non believers. These guys seem to have something to prove.
Like yeah the car is fast tuned, but if people had the choice they would get the new M.

These cars tuned are faster than most think. I saw one with the Vishnu (sp?) tune that ran his best time of 12.7 at Moroso a few months back.

What will be interesting is the new 135i with the same motor and 500lbs lighter. They are butt ugly, but they will haul ***.

135's are about 200lbs lighter. I was surprised too as it looks alot smaller.
But it basically sits on a 335 frame.

12.7 is not that fast. Stock E55 runs low 12's What will be fast is the new M3 with active autowerke supercharger or HPF twin-turbo kit

Become intimate with Dinan's warranty policy and how it effects factory warratny. BMW no longer carries dinan parts. Dinan warranties only their parts for the life of your factory warranty. I've seen to many situations on the M3 forums where BMW blames a failure on dinan and vise versa. Basically its not as simple as it seems when dealing with warranty issues with dinan hence why BMW no longer carries their parts.

Why make a big deal out of it? Just see if anyone stock will take you on in a 335i and see the difference personally.

That's not 100% true either. Some BMW dealers still install Dinan parts and stand behind them completely. They don't only warranty their parts, but any potential problem that may arise from the use of those parts.

I hope what you are saying is from experience, becasue mine was different. Just be careful and clarify everything with whom you are dealing with.

Who is "they" ?...the dealers themselves ?

Exceedingly doubtful
