E63 Kick Down Button/Pedal
I know this sounds like a silly question, but what does the kick down button the gas pedal hits when you can't go any further do? How is it supposed to operate? Just want to make sure mine is working correctly. Thanks.

I think it is just a mechanical reminder for the driver. I took mine out and it isn't connected to anything. the old ones were. It is actually a german car feature and it is supposed to kick the car into its lowest gear (for the revs) and also holds shifts to "redline". It is a "safety" feature for getting on and off highways. There is a blurb in the manual about it and there was a funny law suit years ago (2000).
Do a search. We researched that thing a couple of years back for the E55. Nobody has ever bothered removing one from a 63 and posting if it is connected to anything or just a clicker.
