They are reaching , everyone on this round plkanet Earth knows AMG dispatches M5 and murders M3. While the trap speed can be impressive the bimmers come out of the hole as if they are towing a 1000lb brick.

We have faced the M5 numerous times , the 335 has a better cahnce on the 1/4 mile LOL

For the record there have only been two in the country to achieve this amazing feat, and yes both are MD cars being driven at MIR It only take a lil negative DA and LOTS of practice. I witnessed the fastest run on DR's and video taped it personally. Sorry I didnt get the launch i wasnt paying attention:

I can GUARANTEE a bone stock (down to the tires) C6 Z06 has gone 10s. When you come to MIR and if Jamie decides to show up with his C6 Z06 you will see for yourself. I was there, saw him rip off several 11.0x runs. With d/rs he ran a 10.8

He also has a modded GT2 and modded Ford GT in the 10's among other cars

Yea I know he ran a 10 on the stock run flats, I'm just reinforcing the point that it wasn't a fluke because he had a bunch of 11.0x runs on run flats.


Jim- Again, MIR is not a magical track. It is all about the DA. Track prep is excellent, close to sea level, and in the fall/winter you can get some negative DA's. Technically if you get the same DA at a well prepped track the numbers will be the same.

I get my car back tomorrow. Depending on what you run tomorrow, I may head out ot MIR on monday and make a few passes during the test and tune. Weather is in the 80's but thats ok

your car has weight on it's side, so yes i believe it's possible. my opinion is based on the fact that many other m5's with every bolt-on made haven't been close to 11.5...unless they added n2o.

as far as the z06's are concerned, it's entirely possible on a well prepped track that's running -2000ft da. you and i could possibly run 10's WITHOUT n2o in those conditions.

Time and time again the 55 drivers come in here and boast if it was a 55 they would have smoked him... Seriously, get over yourselves. You guys need to be driving M vehicles because your ego's are on par with theirs.

For the record, the 63's are .2 seconds quicker to 60 than 55's and there is no way in hell that an M3 or M5 would have gotten that kind of jump.

By the way, did anyone else notice the M3 pulling on the M5 at the beginning? For all we know, the M3 is supercharged and the M5 is probably putting down around 550hp with his mods. All this versus a stock E63. It doesnt take a scientist to determine the outcome.

Edmunds as well as several other publications and web sites also state the Black Series runs 12.3 and 12.4 quarter miles and I was running consistant 12.2 and even laid down a 12.19 bone stock, and a few guys on this board have claimed to have gone even faster in stock tune, so I would not take to much of what they say to heart. The real world is the only thing that matters, formulas, theorys and predictions don't mean squat when the light changes green.

all this talk about whose faster then this person or that person. Who cares. We all haver nice rides. Different drivers and various conditions can change a lot of the outcomes. I am looking forward to MIR and let the day, conditions and cars speak for themselves!

I think it’s mostly to do with the fact the guy taking the vid dissed the AMG badly
When in fact in the 1/4 mile it is king compared to all BMW M cars.
Dude even the M3 pulled on that car, so driver error had to be a big part of it, if it was indeed a real AMG

If the guy taking the vid said wow we won or something then I guess you wouldn’t have as many people complaining, the fact that he dissed it is what gives the general BMW persona (we are the best all else is ****)

I have beaten many a car and not once did I not wave, smile and give thumbs up to the other driver as a friendly gesture to the race, withier I won or lost
I just feel it’s the right way a car enthusiast should behave

I did watch the video, but admittedly I didn't have sound so I couldn't hear the comments so in that sense its fair enough if he was being a douche bag.

I don't see why this video is fake? Sure the AMG should have won, but everyone knows that the numbers on paper don't always apply on the street.

you make a good point. I know most BMW drivers who have raced an AMG in a straight line would also not accept this video as the norm but a simple anomoly. I suppose fake is incorrect in the sense it is a "real " video , however the result is indicative of other forces at work, not a measure of the cars performance.
