Wow... That is an amazing job the exhaust shop did. I like it better than mine. I thought about putting on Dynamat before but I decided just to live with the resonance inside the cabin between 1500 - 2000 rpm. Looks like Dynamat is in my future after seeing what you've done.

same here at first. when I did the res delete last year I didnt do dynamat then figured I would live with it. Was fine for just that, but with cat delete too and since were already there i figured why not. Stuff is a little pricey suprisingly.
Yeah they did an amazing job.

FYI again for all those interested Hi-Flo Custom Exhaust in Manassas, VA did the whole job. Very reasonably priced. Worth every penny in sound and feel.
Scott is the man to talk to! Tell him you were referred from an MBWorld member.

Great meeting you Jeff... I believe Torey and I will be speaking to Scott shortly and get ours done seeing how the guinea went through great. LOL

By the way, a few of those ants during your loud pedal episode looked to be running around and showing signs of WTF character.

It was great meeting you too. I met Torey once before in Tysons. Great seeing him again too. Yeah Scott did a great job. It was great knowing another AMG owner was building my exhaust I cant wait to see Scotts e55 with the wheels on it.
YEah the exhaust note & added feel/power is great. Cant wait to hit the track soon

here is a short video with my exhaust under load. Because of the Dnamat around my exhaust its not very loud inside the cabin so you might have to turn your volume up to hear it best. Car sounds great outside the car
Anyway just thought I would share.

So you still have the stock primary cats? What did they do to get them to fit the new 3" piping? Put a flange?

well each pipe required some care to make it fit. The driver side pipe is slightly oval while the passenger side pipe is perfectly round. The stock pipes are 2.75" in diameter while the new pipes are 3" . He has a machine he took the end of the pipes into which slightly stretched/increased the size of the pipes by 1/4" to to fit the new pipes.
He was able to do this without messing up the stock pipes. Came out really well and with a TIG welder secured it together with the new system.

Nice! It looks fantastic to boot. Definitely a great job. I really wish we had someone around here who would do that kind of quality work. You're really lucky to have that shop.

YEah I shouldn't have any trouble passing an emissions test. Still have my primary cats.

I currently have Florida tags so dont have to worry about such things

sometimes goverment police(gw parkway belongs to us govt.) make speed traps after the bridge, near the exit to I-395. I used to work in Reagan, when I opened a video I was like... wtf, I been there soo many times Your exhaust sounds different now from stock, more sportie I guess.

yeah i know. Thanks! Yeah I hope it sounds different after everything I have done at this point. Yeah I normally try to be careful around there. I hit that stretch a few times a day usually. Just gotta be careful. That time of night I wasnt expecting much to be around. Thats why I didnt go too much further WOT. I live just south of Crystal City, north of old town.

even in the video its a little tough to hear how loud the exhaust has gotten. Best to hear it from the outside, because of the Dynamat sound proofing.
