Some discussions on other threads over the past couple days has generated some interest in having some sort of M-B, AMG event in Las Vegas next spring. I took it upon myself to call up LVMS to see about renting both the drag strip for one day and the road course (outside/large, not oval road course) for a day. There were not many weekend days availbale from March 1st through mid April due to the NASCAR and NHRA events that are held there in those months.

What I did come up with was renting the drag strip on Friday March 27 and the large road course on Saturday the 28th. It ain't cheap, total for the 2 days the rental will run a little over $16,000 , about $7600 for the drag and $9000 for the road course. The way I look at it is if we get 30 or so attendees it will be about $500.00 a person which is not too bad for 2 days on world class tracks.

I have also spoken with my casino host at the PALMS and I can get as many rooms as I want at a casino rate of an average of $149.00 a night. I also looked into renting one of either the Playboy Sky Villas or the King Pin Suite for one evening, these rooms go for $10,000-$15,000 a night...Calm down, BUT I can usually get them comped (free) or at least a very large portion of the rate comped. If this is too rich for everyones blood we can get a smaller less expensive suite. My only line of thinking for a big suite one evening would be to hire some entertainers and waitresses and bartenders and have our own party one night rather than hitting the clubs or casino.

This is just in the idea stages at this point, please feel free to throw in your $.02 on any ideas. Also I'm not married to the PALMS, if any of you have relationships with hosts at other casinos by all means call them up and see what they can do for us.

Dude, there are a bunch of guys coming from California and theMid-west to the MIR event, so why can't you make it to Vegas? You are gonna mis one heck of a blow out. The only thing that concerns me is if I'm gonna be sober enough on Saturday morning to be running wide open on a road course. The hardest part is gonna be trying to stay sober for an evening in sin city. Maybe I should flip flop the drag/road course days, I don't mind if I sit out the drag racing.

And getting flat-out drunk etc... I don't have any Hotel hook-ups but Hardrock has always been my favorite bars & the pool has a topless area lots of strippers sun bathing , also goes off till 12 midnight...I'm up for the Palms too

The Playboy Club is the most over rated place in Vegas. They grab you for $50.00 at the door, no biggie, but once you get up there it's small, crowded and a sausage fest. It's not even a night club, it's just gaming. It's 8 to 1 guys to girls ratio. On top of that if you really want to gamble up there there are only a handful of tables and you better be a real heavy hitter and have at least a $10,000 marker available becasue on busy weekends table mins are usually $100-$500 a hand, Once I was up there so drunk and F'ed up out of my mind I got kicked out for making a big scene, appearently I got into an arguement with a pit boss over the size of my bets. I was so wasted I thought I was playing with $100 chips but they were $1000 chips and I made a scene when they would not let me bet 6 chips. Table max was $5000 a hand I was trying to bet $6000, thinking I was only wagering $600. The only reason I even remember that story was becasue the following night me and a buddy went back up there and the pit boss and a Bunny dealer told me the whole story.

I don't think Hard Rock has a topless pool, unless it is new in the past month. Ceasars, Wynn, Mandalay Bay, Mirage and Stratospher all have topless (Europeon) pools. I agree though that Hard Rock and PALMS both have the nicest and youngest scenery. Another downside to Hard Rock is that they are in the middle of a huge construction project right now, I stayed there in June and those guys work all day and night, kicking up dust and making all kinds of moise, it really sucked.

You're correct about the other Hotels, but I could've sworn the managment told us last year they were opening a topless section above the sandy bottom pool area @ Hard Rock, also it is as you say in a construction zone, also a bit off the strip.

Hands down either Palms or Hard Rock..
