First trip to the strip - pics & HD video
My first effort down the strip yesterday - hence the confused expression in the first pic

Had an excellent day - convoyed up to Santa Pod with Jay and Sye, and met loads of new people too - great fun
Two goes on the strip was enough for a first day, as I did want to be able complete the 2 hour drive home with the car in one piece.
Hi Def in car video here - http://www.vimeo.com/1775019
A very friendly atmosphere too - thought it would be more competitive and intimidating for a newbie, but not at all.
Stats were...
1st run:
Reaction + .983
60ft - 2.910
330ft - 6.2529
1/8 ET - 8.9529
1/8 MPH 90.80
1000' ET 11.2105
1/4 ET - 13.2277
1/4 MPH - 114.97
2nd run:
Reaction + 4.6953 - oops
60ft - 2.0041
330ft - 5.2687
1/8 ET - 7.9565
1/8 MPH 91.59
1000' ET 10.2068
1/4 ET - 12.2158
1/4 MPH - 116.25
Got slightly into trouble with the marshall for crossing the line at over 110 mph without wearing a helmet, but as it was my first day and I had no idea what speed I would reach, they let me off this time
And I think there will be a next time, so I best get shopping for a helmet

Very nice!
With a little more traction on the first 60', you'll be in the 11's for sure.
What an amazing looking color setup you have! Haven't had a 55 stop me in my tracks in a long time. Looks incredible.

great cam set up.
Although you have street tires you should at the very least spin em a few times to clean off the tire and heat em a little. I did not really see a "water box" but if there was you drove right through it. This can be bad as your tread in the front picks up water and drips it right in the path of your rears...
where is this track?

There was a little wet puddle just before the line, but only saw the serious 10 second cars doing burnouts - didn't want to look like a newbie - but will give it a go next time ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Track is Northampton, England - http://www.santapod.co.uk/

That puddle is the burnout box............you only need to use it if you have drag radials or slicks. If you are on street tires(as you were) then you should drive around the water completely and go to stage at the line.
