It may depend on when the car was put into service. I am not sure about MB, but with BMW they can not place a vehicle into the CPO program until the original factory 3/36 warranty has expired. Don't hold me to this comment but the answer might be as simple as that. Otherwise there may be some other things going on. The car and VIN may have been "black listed" in a previous life and is not eligible for a CPO program.
One more thing, if this is a car you already own and want to extend the warranty it will not be possible to buy CPO. Usually these cars get traded or turned in and then they are sent out for an inspection and repairs. This adds cost and that is why a CPO car has a much higher price than an equally equiped non-CPO car.

if you are looking at 3rd party warranties, check out mercury. they have a great package. i just got my 06 C230 covered for 36 months or out to 85,000 miles for $1545, with only a 50 deductible. if its within 10 days of purchase you dont have to have any inspections or anything, just provide proof of purchase. it was easy.
