Dyno'd my stock E55 - Wow, you won't believe this.
So, I've been smokin' people left and right with my car. Bikes, cars whatever...I'm lovin' this car! It's an 05 with 29K in the clock. Anyway, I decided to see what kind of numbers she puts down to get a good baseline. It is 100% stock, with stock filters and all. So I decided to crash an Audi Quattro dyno day. They set up the dyno for FWD and RWD first and then AWD. I was 7th in line. All the guys before me were getting some decent numbers (about 10-15% less than manufacturer's crank numbers) + or - some of their mod work, so I was hoping to get around the same.
#6th in line was on the dyno (V8 Fiero that threw down some terrible numbers), so I staged my car. Reset the ECU, put it in dyno mode (thanks Jackpro) and let her warm up. My turn rolls around and I explain to the dyno guy how to dyno (M mode, slowly work your way up to 4th etc.). Anyway, first two pulls go well, but the engine kept cutting out at 5600 RPM!!! For some reason, I was hitting 155mph in that gear.
Here are the numbers: Red is first, green is second.

So, the dyno guy decides to do a 3rd gear run for the final run. Looks like he was right:

Yes, that is 487HP and 525TQ STOCK! I was trying to keep my cool because people were watching
But I couldn't beleive it.
Check out the dyno guy's reaction!

And this was was funny to me:

Anyway, more pics and videos to come from the Audi guys.
Enjoy or flame away or discuss!

hmmm
that is simply mind boggling. Its gotta be an anomoly? could your car be modded and you dunno?
560 is 90 hp over manufacturer and 60-75 over most stock 55's
not much comp from the audi's and porsches lol

you cant compare this dyno to what mercedes uses to dyno there cars or post there HP ratings.
im usually a Dynojet guy. its usually what alot of people use anyways.
good runs, good power.

Maybe the car is just a FREAK, it creates masive hp and gets hybrid type mileage![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
You gotta get to a track, pehaps you will be the first stock E55 to run 11.60's
Thanks for the pics and info, I dunno if I have any explanation

V12-Biturbo
Either they acidentally slipped a V12 TT engine in there or the Dyno operator flubbed somehow. Although for your case I hope it's true that would indeed be a factory FREAK!! Those are higher RWHP #'s than a stock 600 V12 TT
the highest I've seen on this board was 481 rwhp & 553 rwto by Treynor...
Also Dynodynamic Dyno machines on AVERAGE give LOWER #'s like Mustang Dyno's vs the most widely used Dynojet. I think something has to be off![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
I think the highest STOCK E55k RWHP is around 440ish![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Yeah that board w/the HP/TO results does look priceless![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Here's a possiblity on the Dynodynamics dyno.....
If you added 15% or more to regular stock numbers ie 410-420 rwhp = 482-494 RWHP & say AVERAGE E55k rwto 450 would net 529 RWTO after adding 15% ...

Ok, first not all DynoDynamics dynos read lower than DJs. Just like any eddy current dyno (Mustang Dyno, Superflow, etc.) unless they are correctly set, they can easily read higher 15% or more in some cases. Eddy current dynos are great for tuning due to the artificial load they place on the driveline however when it comes to comparing power from different dynos, DynoJets are the only way to go. That being said I'd like to see some objective dynojet numbers if possible?

I have the answer to everyone's questions..............It was all in the test drive. The guy who test drove the car reset the ecu and tapped on the gas a couple of times.

2001: Supercharged E55 AMG
If they are correct I say
![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
But keep in mind that the run should be made in 4:th gear since it's the 1:1.
I had a friend who dynoed a 1998 Mercedes E60 AMG (381Hp stock) and he got 452 RWHP when they dynoed it 3:d gear
In a car who had 220000 KM on the meter and creates 381 HP stock at the crank. My E55 with "only" 320 RWHP is faster then his E60 so his dyno wasn't correct.
