E55 under original warranty -Battery Alternator Light
I have an e55 under original factory warranty.
What should I expect?
1 Car broke down at 1 AM. Battery Alternator Light comes on,
2 i Call MB ROadside,,,Mercedes Road Side wont have anyone until 7 AM.
3 I call AAA to get towed from a dangerous HWY spot, 35 miles home at now 2:15 AM.
300.00 PAid it.
4 Call for MB Roadside assistance on Monday. TAlk to 2 technicians. They
decide its the Alt, and a tow truck comes, and tows car to MB. I ger loaner car.
5 Now MB say it was the battery, and they changed a fuse.
6 They are still running tests tonight. I get final results tomorrow.
What here should I expect to pay?
I can hear them saying "you pay for it all".
Am I covered for ALL ( battery and fuse), with a factory 2006 e55 warranty?
They did bring it in, on their own assumption. I didn't need a rental car, though it makes things easier. What about leaving me on a road after calling for help at 2 AM. Is it 24 hour assistance, if so they breached that.
I did sign both for the 2nd tow, and again at the dealer.

You certainly should be covered under warranty. Which dealer is this and where are you located? Also, call MBUSA and file a complaint regarding the 24 hour roadside assitance issue and ask for reimbursement for the tow.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Im in N. California / San Jose - Silicon valley.
I don't want to out the dealer yet, because they
have been reasonable so far, but I will report back tomorrow
with that answer, and how they handled the situation.
- So the battery is covered under warranty, and not a 'ware part' like brake pads / clutches ...?
I'm going to upgrade my membership, this forum is a great source of info.
thx again!
