It's a love and hate relationship...but I get abused all the time. I am filing for a divorce.

Ahmad, don't knock it until you tried it. Morrocco has no traction, zip, nill, nada, nothing. This is the same track I was spinning my tires through the traps at. This is the same track that I could not best my 11.4 motor only pass at with an 85 shot of NOS. If he was able to run an 10.9 there he will go 10.3 at MIR. I think we might get to see some history being made at MIR.

Whether it has shielding or not the cones are encapsulating the engine.
Under hard work the engine heat must affect the intake temp.
Taking cool air from the front should be the way to go.

No room for filters anywhere other than the place we have them. Besides, the inercoolers are so effective, the surrounding engine temps have little bearing on IAT's. This is what the data-logging is telling us.

Obviously, you are doing something majorly right and those filters have to be working well...you wouldn't be hitting max boost if the IATs were too high! Marko is the man!!!

Just don't go humbling us "slow" MBs Iron Sheik style!!!

I spoke w/Vadim on the new IC/Scorpions/ it's going to be installed on my SL when available, also it will be affordable

I wish somebody would create a Vararam type of bottom feeder CAI for our V12 apps, split the feeders in half then route piping to the front area under bumper on either side of the Heat Exchanger...

Looks like this on C5 vettes, imagine it cut in half & supplying each side tubing to reach engine...

on C6 Vette, I had 1 & diff was notable....

I hope they are available soon, I was in the SL that got spanked so bad, and I can only say that my jaw was slowing down the car even more because it had dropped through the floor and was dragging on the track like a bad boat anchor.

And we both were having a severe problem hooking up that day. I had 2 good passes in the SL all day, and it was downhill from there. Marko, that CL is absolutely wicked!

Hey Nick,

I was actually happy to be able to see the CL race against another tuned 65 so we could see exactly where we were at and if we were going in the right direction. Great run!

Don't worry. The intercoolers and intake will fit on the SL65 also!

I agree there is no where to put them except where you have.
However this is because of the large K&N cones, do these really add much more bhp. Nearly all items concerning engine performance, radiator,
inter cooler, oil cooler and brake ducts are positioned at the front for maximum
cooling, they even move inter coolers such as the Subaru from on top the
bonnet to the front. I just wonder if changing the cones to direct front intake will improve your figures.

As of right now, there doesn't seem to be a limitation by the location of the filters. In order to use a 2 filter design, you would have to double the size of the filter in order to accommodate the air-flow requirements of the engine. Unfortunately, these 250HP filters are as large as we can fit. I calculated that the 4 of them can flow around 1000 CFM. Which is good for around 1000 HP. Besides, plenty of fresh air flows into the engine bay at or around 25 mph. Based on my timeslip, the car reaches 60 MPH in about 3 seconds. Maybe a little less. There is plenty of airflow in the engine compartment just seconds after you hit the throttle.

That would be great for our cars. The major problem is that there just simply is no room. I had a Vararam on my C5 before I Twin Turbo'd it. I was a little concerned about driving over standing water. It doesn't take much water to hydro-lock a motor.
