Flat Hood Emblem
Hey,
I just went to the dealership and I was looking for flat hood emblems, but the one they gave me looked huge and I put it on and looked kinda funny cause it went over the indent part. Is that how all the oem mercedes ones look like? Would I have to get something like the white-star emblem to get the smaller version?
I looked at the flat hood thread and some people used 3M take to stick something on or a G-class badge? Can someone direct me to where I can buy those?
Thanks,
Eric

I think there''s a guy named Mario (not sure about the name) but he makes really cool AMG Crest flat hood badges. Amazing detail and a perfect fit, its what I have on my car.

Thanks hbr, Blacksport350, and W211 Beast.
I have researched all of these things and all of them are a little high for my budget. I am looking for those $15-40 badges that fit in the groove of the hood and not over it like the ones at the dealer.
I think the white star badge and the Mario one are really neat, but I can't justify spending that much on a badge! Hope you guys understand, sorry!
Thanks!

+1....$15-$40 is a fair price but some of you guys are talking about an emblem that's upwards to $100...

And the debate rages on... I already provided my take on this on the sticky thread that is dedicated to this subject. Bottom line, you get what you pay for in life and the plastic dealer sold emblems look awful. I moaned and groaned about the price of DFW Dude's White Star but I've received many many compliments on it. Even from my wife. I never saw "Mario's" version... can somebody post a link to a thread that shows Mario's?
Gracias.

Would you pay 50 cents a quart for recycled oil and call it the same thing and drop 8 quarts in your E55, think about it?

Im not sure the exact size. Some of those covers the groove, and others fits inside the groove. Make sure you read the item description carefully before you buy. I have a White Star from DFWdude. It fits inside the groove.

Oooo, I like that! I am sporting the dual badge look right now with the E63 grill badge and the DFWdude badge. I was actually thinking about putting the star back on but this could be a good option. Not cheap, but good!
I honestly don't know what MB was thinking when the put the second badge on the E63 grill. It looks great on the new part but looks pretty redundant with the star on the hood.
