Some bad news regarding weather........
It used to say sunny with 0% chance of rain on the 13th, and it remained like that for 2 weeks, but now it's changed to 30% chance of rain

It would not be an MB World gathering/event if it did not get rained out at least once LOL! 4 out of 4 MB World events I attempted to do this year got rained out....actually one of them got snowed out. But honestly, I hope the weather works out for you guys, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Damn, We've had WILD FIRES, RAIN STORMS, 50 MPH HEAD WINDS, EVEN NO AIR TUBES (Jangy LOL ) AXLE PROBLEM (me) PIT CREWS MISSING (me lol) and I'm sure I've missed something.. I hope it will not rain. Some of us are comming a long ways..

Okay guys, here is the deal....

Right now it is sunny as h*ll in Bakersfield and at the track even though weather.com predicted 30% chance of rain.

I don't think we can do the 2 lane track anymore as they're already prepping our 1 lane.

Finally, if we decide to do this, and our event rains out all day, we will loose $2,000 dollars for the ambulance crew, track crew, etc......, but we'll get a refund for the rest. So that means a loss of 45% of each payment. If we decide we want to postpone the event, we MUST decide by 3:00 p.m. today because that's the deadline to fax the insurance policy for following day.

So now, I need a vote from each of the paying members (at least from the ones who are forum members), what do you want to do? Shoot for tomorrow or postpone to a later date?

I'm down for whatever you guys decide.....

Okay, so we got all 3 major weather sites are conflicting

AccuWeather thinks it'll be sunny with no showers until 7:00 p.m.

Weather.com states that it'll be sunny from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., then 30% chance of slight showers at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.. Then it states from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., it'll be sunny with no chance of rain. Then 40% chance of rain after 4:00 p.m.

WeatherUnderground thinks there's going to be 20% chance of rain from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., then it goes to 30% chance of slight showers.

Common guys, should we take the risk or wait for another day.

Okay, so far, I've got 3 votes that still wants to go ahead as scheduled and risk it for tomorrow. I'll keep updating the thread as I get more info in.

I'm liking ONLY the AccuWeather prediction. It states no rain until 7:00 p.m. The other two sites think there is 20% of "slight rain" in an out all morning. Very frustrating.....

Thanks man...... I was just thinking the same thing. I kept thinking: now I know how Ahmad felt when he organized the MIR event. I kept thinking to myself that you went through a lot more messy situation than ours (at least times 10 worse) but you still pulled it off Hopefully we can do the same.

If it rains it will be almost impossible to make it to the track on drag radials.

Lets hope it does not... Anyway, what the hell? Rain in Southern California? Stupid technology, they can make a pill that gives an (edited out of respect for old people) but we can't control the weather yet.

Actually, track officials said they can dry out the rain within 1 hour after it stops. There is 20% chance of "slight showers" (not all out rain).....

AccuWeather (supposed to be one of the more accurate ones) seem to show no rain until 7:00 p.m.

Weather.com says no rain from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., so maybe we can get a good couple of hours at least Given that it is very sunny out here today, I really want to give this a try, but I understand that it's a big risk especially for out of towners. The ultimate decision will belong to rarfinancial; he's coming from far away, and he's been essential in putting this event together.
