Buy or Lease W211 E55?

If I plan to keep the car for 3-4 years and put 10,000 miles a year on it, what do you E55 owners suggest I do-finance with $10,000 down or lease on my business with $0 down?
Let's assume a purchase price of $80,000.
I don't plan on doing any mods except window tinting. What are your experiences with the W210 concerning these issues and cost of ownership?

CLK55, Mini S
Dr. C - I'm having the same thoughts. I paid cash for my CLK55 and its resale sunk like a rock. But I think the sedans hold value better. I may just put $10k-$30k down and finance the rest since rates are so low. Keeps my cash with me and it will be unlikely I would ever owe more than it is worth if I'm only keeping it a 3-5 years. Kind of a self-lease, and less complicated to dispose of the car, should I want or need to.

When do they tell you that you will be able to spec out your car and what about delivery dates?

Dr. Chill,

I would lease. There is minimal out of pocket, and right now the residuals on the Benzs are pretty good (low to mid 60s % for 36 to 39 months). I leased my SL500 for my girlfriend..I also have a deposit on an E55...good luck!!!

I've not run the numbers for your example, but I gotta believe that if you plan on keeping it for only 3-4 years, can stay within your annual milage allowance, and can run it through your business, the tax advantage you'll pick up should make this a no-brainer for you [and your business!].

I think one of the few negatives is the relatively high money factors that mbcc offers [>5%]; still historically low finance rates for the auto industry, however.

Whether you lease or finance, let us know what sort of terms you end up with -

My dealer expects to take my order sometime in March with delivery in May, but that's a guess.

Thanks to all who replied. I originally thought I would keep the car for 6-7 years making purchasing the car more cost effective, however, I can't see myself not wanting a new vehicle in 3-4 years. I agree the tax advantage with lease seems to be preferable.
