Mobil 1 oil
I have read alot of thead on here and AMG private forum, but just
wanted to ask a question where I didn't see an answer.
I have a CLK 55 AMG 2005 : recommanded oil : Mobil 1 0W40 Euro full sync
BUT: the car is in storage for winter, soo it does not see snow or cold...
Soo Why should I use 0W40 ?? Would a 5W40 or 10W40 run better??
All I want is the best for my car, soo please don't flame me for this question.
Thanks guys

Okay, without going into alot of detail, Thinner oil is better all the way around for your baby.
1. Flows easier at start up
2. Less drag on internals, aka more HP
3. Protects better, at standard operating temperatures.
There are many more reasons, but you can check out the other posts about it using the search here. I have wrote pages on these forums about oil, as well as others my friend.
Note: Thicker oil is ONLY required under EXTREME temperatures, aka race conditions. It is also used on engines that have Sloppy tolerances and or older. There are a few exceptions to this rule, like BMW's M's that use 0-60 because of their 8000+ red line.
See yeah

If the bottle has at least the MB spec of 229.5 it is O.K. I prefer to use the Mobil1 5W40 ESP Formula M (MB spec 229.51) that Mercedes used to have their dealers use. Now it is only required for the newest BlueTec diesels. They have since returned to recommending Mobil1 0W40, as I understand it, because customers whose cars use oil were having trouble finding it by the quart.
