Modded E55 needs Renntech Toelinks
I have debated on needing the toelinks for a long time. I never really thought that they could help with the old wiggle and shake but as it turns they did. My car has been getting more and more mods which gives the car more HP. I have been having so many issues with the back end recently that the car was getting a bit scary.
Anyway, if you have any mods on your car I would recommend that you have this mod done. I think of it as vital as a cooling mod is to our cars. I know there has not been too much written regarding this topic so I hope this helps.

anything that makes the car stable during accleration is a worth while mod.
last night i also got a reality check, i gave the e55 a little throttle when my tires were wet. car fished tailed traction control got the car back in a stragiht line.

Did you put them on? Any idea how much adjustability it adds? Did you notice the rear end stabilize? Any pics? I need them too but want camber arms as well.
HAHA!! I have been in a fog since we met at Chapps. Friggin getting old!!

I have them on my car...and the car is whole lot more stable under acceleration. I have driven a couple friends cars with the same modifications without the toe links and the "wiggle waggle" could be felt. My car feels planted under acceleration.

Renntech sells them for about $1150, I can attest that they make a 650hp SL much more stable. In fact, it was actually dangerous to push the car to downshift at 50mph, as the car would nearly change lanes as it fought for traction. Not any more though.

funny you say that. I test rode in a heavily modded SL55 which made me really solidify my decision. My car has a lot of power when you get on it and it definitely was a bit scary to drive at the limit.

I think I'll order one this week and if I could get it here by Wednesday my tech could install it before his vacation. A few well known members here have made this suggestion and after all the positive reviews I'm ready to purchase.

If anyone has their OEM toe arms or camber arms and are willing to let me borrow them for a day, let me know. I'm getting played by all the silly engineers and want to get a new CAd made.

I honestly think so, especially if you have bad bushings in the toe links. I dunno who said that, but even an E500 is solid all the way to 140, so these links don't add anything just at speed. The wiggle that these links helps with comes from when we dig the power and we have traction. As the car tries to put the power down, the toe links flex and BOTH rear wheels will toe out. As the car is moving and accelerating, that flex is less consistent and a back and forth happens. BUT it does not happen if you are just holding it at 150. Again, this is under max acceleration. Over 100mph, our cars don't have the ummmph to get squirly but try punching it at 80 and holding through 150 and yes the toe links will add major stability.

Ok I have been thinking of LSD for some time now, but I know that
The part is in the same price range
installation is a pain and takes time and $$$
so are these toe links a substitute?
what if you have both will you gain more traction and stability?
really interested in finding out about this

The SL has a Kleemann LSD that I installed before the toe links, and they seriously added to the stability after installed. Since I am concerned about premature wear in the differential, I am going to be removing the Kleeman LSD in the SL, and swapping it with a Quaife this winter.

I have had the toelinks since they came out and I will agree after you put a few mods on you will need/want them. I couldnt even drive the damn car without them felt like you were on ice.

Yeah...keep in mind. I already made my mind up on the purchase but I'm waiting for pricing and availability. If I purchase from Adam I should have them by Wednesday. I'll keep you posted.
