Noob shopping questions--05 1/2?

Hey all--great forum here. Have learned alot in the last few days just reading. I am in the market for a white or silver e55. Had a couple of questions for this well educated forum. I have read that the 05 1/2 or newer e55 is preferable to the prior model. Is there a definitive way to tell that an 05 is an 05 1/2? That is where I have been looking, but have seen a few steals on 03's-have heard that they can be problematic. Been watching leasetrader and found one I liked in geargia--registered and paid to join only to find out that one was gone already. Would probably prefer a short term lease over a purchase.

Yes since the 03 was the fist year they made the w211 e55 there were some bugs and problems. If you can afford a 05 or 06 go for it.

Mercedes
the 05's 1/2 have a newer steering column compared to the older models. It also has a few fixes to some of the bugs with the car. It has a different center counsel and headlights.

If you can get an 03 for a good price, get an extended warranty like easycare, and you will not have problems with it
