Yeah I dont think it looks too bad. Looks more like the CL class. Wonder why they would look so much alike...

Im sure once dressed up, it'll look sick! Dont really like the body line on the rear quarters.. Doesnt really flow..:nix:

And does anyone know if they will still have a CLK coupe next to this E coupe in the lineup? I've always thought of the CLK as an E class coupe

I think its hideous, but I thought that about the new S class when spy pics were released and now I love it. Same with the C. I guess we'll just have to wait and see the final product - its too early to pass judgement.

Definately something different... I think with a better and bigger set of wheels, it'll look much better...

Boy, I never noticed the body line on the rear until just now. That is terrible! The fender goes all the way to the rear. It's like they forgot to finish the rear quarter.

+1, that bulge sucks in stock form. Should be nice when the car is given the AMG treatment.

I hear they are dropping the clk to make way for e class coupe, i for one like the new shape, looks very much like the cl but without those big fender bulges.

Im not really sure if this opinion is shared by anyone else - but here is mine.
BMW destroyed the look of its cars starting i guess ab 5-6 yrs ago with the 7 series and every design since I always thought Mercedes was killin them.
However besides the new S Class i think every Benz design in the past few years is just OK. When the W210 E Class came out that car was a smash hit homerun and had everyone talking ab it and mentioned in every rap song for 5 yrs. The same for the CL of the same period and the SL and the Clk430 of '00 had me stopped in my tracks at the auto show. The 211 E Class had no where near the same clout and to me neither does the new CL and they outright destroyed the CLK and made a macho Wide Shouldered Bad Ass into a Girls car. The SL was a smash as well and when i see the new one i scratch my head and say - What they hell have the done to this?? BTW ive owned all of the aforementioned cars.
Sorry but the new E looks absurdly close to the CL and all the cars look pretty much the same to me.
I dont know call me crazy but I havent seen anything from Benz in the past 6-7 years that has floored me. Well except for the Black Series - and if you ask me they could have made that a hell of alot crazier too. :nix:

The AMG version always looks better, so lets wait and see..... when is the official release supposed to be anyways?

guys, these are spy shots and the real body is hidden in these pics. Once you see the real thing, I am sure it will be hot. I never like cars when I see undercover pics like these. Once the real thing comes out, its a whole different ball game. Have you seen the spy shots of the new S-class before it came out? Or even the W211 e-class before it came out? If so, you'll know what I mean....

I agree. Mercedes USED to lead the market with their innovative and inspiring styling and technology, now, they look like every other car out there. I for one dont like anything from mercedes right now except the S class and only now do I kinda like the styling of the CL. I remember a time when Mercedes stood out from the crowd. the last time that happened it was the 90's.

Design seems a bit dull... in the same way the W209 is dull.

So they are going to make an E class coupe and a CLS??!! Sounds wierd. Are you sure its an E?

It looks like a worthy replacement for the CLK...Can't wait to see more.
