SL65 wheels a direct fit?

According to this link, a 255 tire on the front will not rub on a W211 E55? That seems a bit big for an E55 on the front. I know you can do the 285s in the read but a 255 in the front? Is this possible?

I am basically looking to buy a set of SL65 wheels with the gunmetal centers. I am going to be selling my Brabus wheels if i do this obviously.

CAn someone confirm that SL65 wheels (even with a 255 tire on front) will be a direct bolt on to a W211 E55? Will it stick out at all?

Actually, found the below also posted on another thread - so I am good to go with the stock 19in SL65 wheels with no modifications necessary?

The off-sets mentioned are not the ones used on the SL turbine wheel aka "alphard" according to MB. The off-set is the 35 and 40 used on many other non AMG sl wheels.

WIth this off-set the W211 can use the 255 or 265 front tire and then a 285 rear with no rubbing. I have a set of wheels from an SL on my DD E350 and they work perfectly.

I have tried the 255 and 285 combo with the ET 30 and 33 you mentioned and they do rub a bit in the rear. They were not bad but you did get black marks on the upper part of the fender lip.

The 35 and 40 ET is actually about PERFECT for a wheel that is 8.5 and 9.5 inches wide on the W211.

I agree though the style is kind of not great with the E55. The trouble is he 18 inch amg wheels from the SL dont have an offset that works on the W211.

Good luck

I have SL65 wheels, but the normal setup for 19inch rims, 245f/275b. They also said that the car had some minor modifications made at AMG in Germany to fit the 19inch in the first place.

Here is the official recommendation:

I also have had these wheels on my E-55 for three years, and lowered with links, no problems, I love these wheels, 275 rear 245 front.

I have run a 275s on the front on an 18X9et39 with no rubbing. I am now running 265s on 18X9et35 and love it.

As far as the SL65 rims, you will get different stories. Some say no issues and some say rubs. I would personally get the offsets and widths and then decide. My take is that they will work with 275s, but nothing wider. I run a 295 in the rear, so the SL rims would only do me good if I shaved them some on the inside.

Can those that have the real ones and not knock offs post the actual width and ets of just those rims?

I have the real sl-65 wheels, front 245-8.5 et 30 rear 275- 9.5 et 31 my car is lowered they do not stick out and they dont rub. I think its the perfect set-up. I would be concern with a different offset than this one.
