I am starting to look at dates for the spring MIR event and am open to suggestions. The track opens up March 7th so after that no weekend rentals are available. I can pretty much get any weekday after March 7th or any day before that. Any preferences?

What is the weather like out there late Feb early March? We are still in a deep freeze in Feb. in my parts. I don't care if we do it on a weekday, but I would assume you would get a better turn out for a weekend event.

It is still cold around that time but not freezing cold like it is now. I have asked MIR when they think the ideal weather would be for a rental. I'm not too concerned about turnout. If we do it on a weekday the minimum number of cars required is much less. I am still waiting for them to publish their 2009 track rental fees. I know it went up from 07 to 08, lets hope it doesn't go up again.

No way do I want to get all the way out there and have the date moved.. If my ECU didn't go out on me before the last MIR event I would have been sitting at MIR freezing my azz off and NOT racing. So pick a GREAT WEATHER DAY guys..

I dont want that to happen either, trust me. But predicting the weather is pretty hard, if not impossible for something that far out. If it was in my control I'd make sure it was ideal conditions.

You wouldn't have been freezing because the suites in the tower were open for our use (heated with a view of the track)

Can you provide me with an address for MIR? I know if I search for it I will find it but if you can provide me with a quick answer that will be great. I might be interested in going, dont quote me on this, if the dates work out, logistics, etc.

Im in, we should also do another Atco track rental, they stay open all year for rentals

MIR is also "open" year round for rentals as well. Its just too cold to be racing anyway and is double the price. I may be up for another ATCO rental. I was up there 2 weeks in a row last year! I dont even know if I am going to be racing my car this year



How does March 1st sound to you guys? Its a sunday
Edit: or should I make it Feb. 28th and have March 1st as the back up day in case of bad weather?

I like March more then February, personally. I dont expect to have my ride back in my possession until end of this month and was hoping to have a month to get ready before event.
Whatever most people want is fine with me, i guess...

Feb. 28th is the day before March 1st. Its the last weekend we can get before MIR starts doing events. If its not that weekend or earlier it has to be a weekday and I think its easier for most people to do a weekend

I am in for either day I'll just leave on fri. and plan on Sat or Sun and stay overnight for whatever weather conditions happen

...Ok, a little bit of bad news. We can't get Feb. 28th because they will be out of town. I went ahead and reserved March 1st. I will start a new thread. Lets hope for great weather. I DO NOT want to have to make a call on weather forecast one week out. I really wish we could have reserved saturday with a rain date of sunday, oh well.
