Good News: No More Oil Burn + Keeping the Car
Well 2008 has been a hectic year. The bad news is that I am out of work. I was downsized on Sept. 30. I may retire.
The good news is that my 2007 E63 no longer burns oil. I had a problem where the oil level warning came on every 1500 to 1800 miles as I was loosing a quart or so. I had the oil changed over the summer at 17000 miles. I have not had this indicator show up and now the car is over 24000 miles. In fact the last time I got the warning was at 14500 miles. Maybe this engine was super sensitive and needed a good break in.
Also I have 26 months left on my lease. I will be keeping the car. No voluntary repo (VERY BAD) or lease swap (Forget it in this economy). I'll just enjoy the ride. My dealer told me that I could get out of the lease with 5 months to go with no penalties. This is primarily for E class vehicles. S class vehicles must have 3 months remaining. So I can move into a less expensive model in 21 months as I do not want to stress my budget. Who knows by then, maybe things will change.
