Size of OEM E55 Exhaust? Underside pics?
I'm curious, what's the diameter of the E55s exhaust at the mid-section? 2.5"?

Also,
Does anyone have any underside pictures of an E55 with an OEM exhaust... And is the first set of catts built into the headers by chance?

The pipings are oval IIRC, so they are smaller than 2.5".
The primary cats are just after the headers. Bolt on by flanges, not built in.

The left Pipe ovals down the right pipe stays round. The Pipes are necked down in a few places for clearance.

They pinch at the flanges. It isn't very expensive to have the flanges and oval parts replaced by bent pipe welded on, but you have to not mind hack and weld.

and it still necks down just past the center Driveshaft carrier and again at the diff.

those two points are what determine actual diameter of the exhaust
