DIY / How to remove parking lamps - turn signals

I recently asked how to remove the parking lamps because I couldn't find it on a search. Well I decided to just try it myself and it ended up being relatively easy. Here is a step by step on how to do it so anyone else that needs some instruction they can find it here.

Step 1: Remove the bottom screw or pop from right under the bumper. I don't know what it is cause I don't have one and I just zip tied it =)

Step 2: Remove the snap/clip/plug from the inside of the wheel well. Just pull on the little nipple and a shaft will come out. You can see what it looks like after the center shaft is pulled out of the sleeve.

Step 3: Pull back the plastic in the wheel well to access the lamp. There is a small slot on the backside of the bumper that you need to insert a screwdriver into and push on the plastic clip/spring to remove the lamp.

Step 4: Replace with the new bulb and lamp. Insert the front first and the back will snap back into place.

Step 5: Enjoy the new look!

Nice writeup, but you can take it out with a rubber screwdriver without unscrewing the wheel wells...

Good info for the E55 but the E63 is not the same and is a bit tougher to get out. I have no idea why they changed that design on the 63. It's a POS design as far as I'm concerned on the 63.

I tried to use a screw driver but I couldn't get it. I didn't even care if I broke it or not but all I ended up doing was chipping off some paint around the edges when I was prying at it. It really doesn't take that long to pull back the wheel well liner. Also it pretty much guarantees that the lamps clips won't get broken. Thanks for thinking it was a nice write up.
