Rev limiter on tuned 55k cars?

What are people revving their 55k engines out to and whats considered the maximum safe rpm to rev to?

Thanks Jangy Guess I need to turn my rev limiter up a bit I'm only at 6200 and it shifts into 4th right before the end of the quarter Raising the rev limiter will allow me to go through the traps while still in 3rd

No I haven't. Only time I really go WOT in first is at the track and I dont think it has ever bogged down. On the street it wold spin through all of first and pretty much all of second

Be careful... with high compression and the F/I system you added, your results raising the rpms might be different than the 55K cars. You might want to pose your question directly to Kleemann - see what tech. specs they have in their archives...?

Shifting costs time in the 1/4, AFAIK blackbenzz is right on the money, if he can avoid a shift a few yards before the line, it should cut down the ET's. Just wouldn't want to blow the motor over-revving it (at least, *I* wouldn't), since it's high compression + a Kleemann blower (i.e. quite a bit different from the 55K engines).

I think 6800 should be more than safe, its not like its a pushrod 8 liter, lol. But really, I think considering the way they are built, and what Finny said about the valvetrain in his thread, I think it should be fine.

2001: Supercharged E55 AMG
I have a 6400 Rpm rev limiter, but thats in my N/A setup now. With the Kleemann charger I'm going to install on it I don't know Have to ask Kleemann how high I can take it and still be safe!

blackbenzz >> Is your W208 a 11:1 or a 10,5:1 like my engine ??

Already asked them, just waiting on a response Yes I have higher compression than a E55 but am running about half the boost

Itis 10.5:1 I think 6400rpm will be conservatove and may be enough to get me through the traps. Lemme do the calculations

Coming from the guy who doesn't know what the compression ratio of his car is Stay out of my threads . I never had a need to raise the rev limiter and now I would like to see how far I can. Now either post something on topic or GTFO of my thread

Still can't shake that sore loser attitude, can ya ?? If you go back and look at my post regarding compression ratio you will see I CLEARLY said "I think"

It's actually 11:3.1 so I was very close, but it's pretty comical that you keep going back to that Sorry, but I'm not the one who doesn't even know what his car's redline is - such a tool you are.
Oh yeah, and I'll post wherever I like, chump. Now go ahead and bump that limiter up - I hope u throw a rod

And for the record, I asked a simple question, only to be responded to with the above. Please stop using terms to circumvent the forums filters for profanity as it is a violation of the TOU.

As a casual observer, I would have to side with your first statement being inflammatory.

Let's not get another post closed.

I have a pushrod 8.3 liter that I rev to 7900 rpm

I think the 55 motor is safe 6800 rpm.
