Cool Updating Command Nav Unit....Please Help!!

I have an 04 W211 E55. My OEM Nav disk is a 2004.1 version. I am trying to updated to a 2009 version.
I was able to obtain the Command Update disk and the Nav Drive Update Disk from a member here. I inserted the Command Update disk into the CD0 under the climate control. I then inserted the Nav Drive Update disk into the nav drive located in the trunk like he said but it didn't work. The software loaded halfway then it stopped. When in Nav mode, there is only "Germany" for region but no USA; I guess because it didn't loaded completely?
So, is there a particular mode that the command update disk has to be in before it can be updated? Does anyone has any knowledge on this procedure?
Please Help!!!!!

Thank you very much!

Mike

Once you have the CD, power up your COMAND unit, briefly hold down 1,3,8 at the same time, and the service screen should come up asking you to insert the CD. Insert the CD and the update will begin automatically. VERY IMPORTANT....DO NOT CHANGE SETTINGS OR TURN IGNITION ON OR OFF DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS.

That was the instructions I got. Worked for me.

So i went into the update menu by pressing 1,3,8 like you said. Upon completion, the screen shut down then came back up again. It did upload my 2004 version to the 46/2006 version. I then inserted the Nav Drive Update Disk into the nav drive in the trunk. It loaded halfway then the screen shut down. A few seconds later, the screen came back up again. When in Nav mode, the only region I have is Germany. So, did I do something wrong? Could you please be specific on how to update the Nav drive? Thank you very much!

i didnt do any updating to the nav drive. all i did was use the update disc per the instructions i quoted... then i just put in a newer nav disc and it worked. maybe your nav disc is for europe rather than the us?? if you put your old nav disc in does it work??
