E55 compared to S55

E55 compared to S55
I have driven a 04 E55 and 06 CLS55 and love them. I am 6'7 so the CLS is not a good option even though it is the best looking of the three. I had planned on getting an S55, but I haven't driven one yet. I looked into the E because I didnt realize the E55 had the similar front legroom and headroom as the S, but obviously it sacrifices the rear legroom. Performance and handling is a priority to me over rear seat space, but do like the extra comfort up front. I also drove an Audi S6 today and really liked the car, but it lacks the performance of the amg.
I will be driving several hours this weekend to drive a S55 and would like to hear opinions from others that have driven both a S55 and a E55/CLS55. How much speed and handling is sacrificed with the size of the S55?
I am looking at 2006s that still have some time left on the factory warranty and I know the extended warrantys are important.
I know what your answers are gonna be, but are they night and day? Any input is appreciated.

If it's performance, buy the s55 OR 65 and enjoy the back seat room.
If it's handling, buy the M5. Low end performance won't be great but the handling will meet your needs. (Oops! Did I say M5?)
OR .... your other option, since you're down to 2 cars is to flip a coin.
If you don't like the outcome of the first flip .... you wanted the other car anyway.

2005 mercedes s55 amg
I've driven both and own a 2005 S55 now. The E55 handles a bit better and is a tad quicker but the S is the Real Mans Luxury race car. The s55's interior blows the E away and it's fun to see the look on a Vette, Mustang or Hemi owner when that supercharger spools up! You might want to add a few Mods. to jazz it up.
BTW I am just a few days from the end of my factory warranty--any suggestions on a company? I was referred to fidelis by the Benz shop. 3,000.00 for 1 year Bumper to Bumper 5,200 for two years.

Yeah, I bought a 06 S55 and I am very happy with it. I am still under warranty and will be buying an extended. I have read good things about the Chrysler warranty. Here is some more info.
