Greetings!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I joined the forum tonight because I'm thinking about switching over to an E55 AMG. Not quite sure if it's going to happen yet, but at least I wanted to join the forum and see what the buzz is all about.

Look forward to hearing from everyone's experiences and stories soon.

Andrew.

Well, there is definitely a lot of buzz!

Seriously though, welcome to the forum, don't think you'll be disappointed if you go with an E55, and just remember, the search tool is your friend!

stock up on tires nd u r set. what year is your e46, what s/c?
do you know bruno AA stg2 widebody lsb and myron with AA stg2 imola ?

i was thinking of getting an m3 myself but i like to have a lot of power, and it just takes an enormous amount of money to bring an m3 to power levels of a stock e55. e55 is a boat and doesn't handle well but i learned to realize that i don't really care for sharp handling in philly and 500+ hp will eat just about anything you can find.

Yea, I saw Bruno selling his s/c on M3Forum.net.

I have an Active Autowerke Stage 2 with the Rotrex.

I know what you mean about the horsepower. I've been trying real hard and the only way I see it happening is getting HorsePowerFreaks, but they try to charge an arm and a leg for ANYTHING. I mean even worse than Renntech!

haha yeah i was just chillen with bruno - he lives 5 min awa from me. the hpf kit is sick but it's sooooo much money - 30k for the stg3. even the AA stg2 is a lot for a new kit - but it still doesnt put m3 at a stock e55 performance level. i miss the handling of my GTI on h&r coilovers but, i drive a lot calmer on turns now

Welcome!

If you are into luxury and road domination it is very tough to beat the E55. I have owned more cars than I can count and the E55 will whip most all of them in a straight line (that includes F, P, and L cars) and is certainly one of the most practical with "supercar" performance.

Yea HPF is definitely way too expensive. I think for all the money I've dumped into the E46 I'm only walking away with maybe approximately 450 rwhp. If I keep the car my next modification would be the methanol kit that Active Autowerkes just released (that's if I can convince my wife to let me).
