Need Help

My dealer has a 2006 e55 amg , blk with charcoal red nappa leather with 31k miles, and he is asking 43,500. He was at 46,000... So do you think this is a good deal? I would be finaicing it for 5 yrs at 5.9%...Also what do you think this car would be valued at in 5 yrs.. Thanks, and look forward to posting in this section!!!

i'd say mid to low 20's in about five years, then again i still see 2003 bmw m5 going for high 20's low 30's
who knows with this crappy economy
but low 40's for an 06 from the stealer sounds about right, the mileage ain't too bad either
good luck

Thanks for the response. I was wondering, what offer should I come back at him with? What would you do?

Whatever you decide to do, I would negotiate a long and comrehensive extended warranty into the deal. Extend it as long as they will let you!

He said I would have a 2 yr extended warranty. I was going to offer 39k. So basically 7k off his original price. Car is clean, and ready to be driven, but thinking I could get him even lower after all these responses. What would be the lowest number you guys would offer?

Just because a bunch of cars go through auction at 31-35,000 doesn't mean that this one is worth that. Those are WHOLESALE prices. Buy one of those. Pay shipping to get it to where you are. Recondition it to the point where you can put it out on the lot & sell it to someone like us, who are very picky people.

Generally, a car from auction will need a couple grand worth of reconditioning at MINIMUM. It will only have one key. Owner's manual will be missing. 2 of the wheels will be scratched up, a door ding here & there.

If you've found one on a dealer's lot that is in very good condition & they've gone through all the crap to make it perfect, it is worth a few thousand more to me.

The 2 year extended warranty through MB is worth 3k.

Is it the right colours & options for you? Do they have the service history? Is it a local vehicle?

Anywhere between $40,000 & $43500 sounds like a decent deal to me....if the car is the right one. It sounds to me like your dealer is being very reasonable by knocking off $2500. You WILL **** him off by offering $39000. Maybe try $41000 & stick to your price instead of ruffling his feathers. You'll end up in the middle anyways, if he knows what he's doing.
