Putting the E55 on Blocks??? Help!
I am going to get my wheels refinished this week and would like some of your opinions on the best way to put my car up on jack stands.
I have 4 jack stands and would like to know the best, safest way to get the car up on all 4 stands without any problems.
I worry about jacking up one corner and placing a jack under the door frame then jacking up the other side and doing the same thing with the weight of the car possibly shifting on the opposite jack stand… and so on and so fourth for all 4 stands.
What is the best Jack point in the center of the car if I wanted to jack up the front end all at one and then the rear end all at once?? Looking under the car I don't know where the best place to put the jack without doing any damage to the car.
What do you think the best way is??
Thanks for any info you can provide.

I wouldnt put any supports under the door frames, its a heavy car and you want to avoid such concentraited stress on an area that wasnt intended for it.
There is a jack point in the front, I noticed it while changing oil. Look down the center, it sits between the first two large plastic splash guards, but it doesnt stick out so its not obvious. I didnt see one in the rear... sometimes people jack up rwd cars by using the diff but I'm not sure if thats the best way to go with this one. Can you borrow someone's jack and just leave the rear on two jacks while the front is on jack stands?

Also, as for using 2 jacks, I don't like the idea of having the rear end held up by jacks for any extended period of time. You never know when one could loose pressure and start to drop the car.... my luck I would wake up the next morning, go out into my garage, and see my car sitting on its rotors

There are places for the supports that run along the frame under the doors, shouldn't I use them to place the jack stands?

Use a mechanical jack (like the one that comes with the car, or a scissor jack) and it wont go down on its own.
