Certainly less dirt is better, but at what point does a certain amount of dirt begin to cause harm? I'm not doubting that an OEM filter does a better job, rather I'm questioning if 2 or even 3 times an infinitessimal amount of dirt will cause any actual wear/harm. If the OEM standard is 96% efficiency and paper/K&N filters are more efficient, does the difference in filtering ability really matter? Just wondering aloud.
