ok, i know some of u guys are having the thump noise coming from the rear airmatic on our car, but recently i am also getting the similar type of clunk noise from the front while driving over bumpy roads as well. and my mb tech couldn't spot what's wrong wit the car. so i am asking to see if anyone had the similar issue and found a fix for it. thanks for the help

im 85% sure its the lower ball joint.
mine had the same noise on my e500, but now its totally gone after changing the lower balljoint. not 100% sure on E55 tho.

i get a thump on the rear passenger.. its likely the shock.

sounds like something thumping around in the trunk..
