Dumb@$$ question for newbie

I understand that we have no oil dipstick on our engine to check oil as we access that through menus on the steering wheel. What is the red cap that looks like a trans dipstick? I noticed that its nothing more than a cap, I suppose that is because the stealership wants to be the one who checks fluid level? Is this access to check the trans fluid?

Yes, this is dealership access to check and fill the trans fluid. You can also buy a dipstick to replace the red cap to check it yourself.

Red cap is oil. Trans is behind passenger valve cover. You can buy both dipsticks from the dealer.

Remember the cover for the transmission one is a one time use only you have to break the tab and push the broken piece down to remove the cover. So if you check it make sure you have a new cap.
