Low power Running Rough!

What the hell I am at a light a the car shakes a little more than normal. And I am experiencing low power. Has anybody had any similar issues? I suspect it could be the IC pump but I haven't read anything about the running rough part.

I am pretty pissed off I have only had this car a month and I already spent money on a full service of all fluids about $1,000. It has an Air Pump code. I am starting to feel like getting rid of it. The car only has 49k miles and I am really regretting it.

buy an extended warranty...

and buy an OBD2 code reader.. you will needed.

The same goes to all the newbies..

There is a reason people are selling E55 for low 20's..

extended warranties are a ripoff. I can get an obdII and I have plenty of experience working on cars. But I would have ever thought this car would be such a pain.

TopGun32 is spot on... Extended warranties are not ripoffs. I am very handy with cars as well but it isn't labor that kills you, it's the cost of parts. Not to mention, DIY is not always possible thanks to some of the complexities MB has integrated into these cars (like, bleeding the brakes...). We say over and over again that everyone should get extended warranties and your experience is a good example, unfortunately. These cars cost $100k new and the bottom line is service and maintance does NOT depreciate. The cost of maintaining this car is what it costs to maintain a $100k car, new. The cost of maintaining a $20k car new is the cost of maintaining it when it is used.

To your post - I've had 3 faulty IC pumps but my cars never shook at idle. There are a multitude of possibilities that could cause a shaky idle.

extended warranties on all my MBs.

actually, if you do your research and buy a good warranty from a reputable company at a good price, they are a good investment... i purchased a chrysler max care contract for my vehicle... i paid roughly 2500ish for the warranty, with a 100 deductible... early january the transmission plug was leaking (common issue) but the factory warranty had expired... my extended warranty covered the entire job... while doing an inspection they also noticed a few other key items that had noticeable wear and tear... they submitted the entire claim and received and authorization right away... only thing i had to pay out of pocket was the 100 deductible and i believe 250ish for a 4 wheel alignment and airmatic reconfig (previous owner had played with numbers in the airmatic module and the car was not sitting right)... the entire bill covered by chrysler was around 4k, though i don't remember now cause it's been a while... if there was one thing i didn't like, was that i had to wait 3-4 days for the mb dealer to receive full payment and release the vehicle to me... not a huge deal considering i had just gotten quite a bit of work done without a huge payout by me...

you seem to be having an unfavorable share of problems with the vehicle... you may want to look into it, it can't hurt...

Yet another person who failed to do his homework and believes he knows more than he actually does.

Running rough and shaking could potentially be an indication of a MAF failure. In my older M113 N/A engine, this is exactly what would happen when a MAF failed. CRC makes a spray that can be used to clean your MAF and sometime get it working properly. I have yet to take a look at one in the M113K engine. I don't think your IC pump would cause the car to run rough, just no blower operation.

There is no MAF in the supercharged cars, they are Speed Density

Took the car into the dealer.

1. Car has a bad air pump and relay. (car already had the recall)
2. Bad thermostat
3. Cats have been replaced with the incorrect ones. SL Model Cats
4.Misfire on cylinder 8...they replace the wire and switch the coil packs.

All in all they said that the pump, relay, therm, and cats have to be replaced. the misfire on number eight needs to be further trouble shoot. They want to do a compression test and maybe even have to remove the head.

I just don't get why it is rough sometimes and not others. If it was a bad valve of dead cylinder wouldn't it be rough all the time.

Anyways now that I know about the cats it would have probably not been covered by any extended warranty. Thank for that advice but that would not help me. I am about 5k upside down towards any trade in right now although that is an option. Because the repairs quote from the dealer was 6500 and thats before they even figure out the misfire.

Any suggestion are appreciated
