E55 AMG
E55 broke down on me today.....

Well im crusing at about 50mph and decide to floor it wot and all of the sudden there is no power at all rpm drops to idle as if the car ran out of gas..As this happens 2 malfunctions pop up...ESP malfunction and distronic malfunction visit workshop....So I roll off to the side of the road and start the car back up and it starts up fine so I go to take off again and give it some gas and the car feels like its missing 200hp...then it just dies out again and goes to idle...So I started the car back up again and now the idle is bouncing around at 1200rpms only when i put it in drive..might do it in park to but dont remember..Anyway I had it towed to my mechanic but hes obviously not gonna get to it till tomorrow..Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be?

eh i dont know if its the IC pump...I remember when my stock one was bad and the s/c would just shut off after a few runs..I have the cm30 pump in there now..

I did say "guess"

Supercharger cracked? Mine also had that... I got a brand new one thanks to warranty, but again, it's just another speculation. I had numerous things wrong with my E55, the IC Pump and cracked Supercharger affected performance the most. GL with fixing the Beast

I had the same problem awhile back ago with the car idling at 1200 rpm on drive and the car felt like a 4 cylinder. I can't remember all the things the dealer replaced but i remember one of the major things that were replaced was the throttle body. I'll try to look for the paper work and see what exactly was replaced and what the problem was.

My guess is that supercharger belt slipped, I would open the hood and see if the belt is loose.

emmm if its the TB the only thing i have heard of going wrong is the metal ring getting sucked in from the Y pipe

throttle position sensor..

very common for c32's.. and a bunch of issues including me.

but i got a CEL.


it threw a code.

But it sounds your issue is more electrical.

turned out to be a lose wire in the TB or something like that..dont remember what it was exactly..cost me $100 to fix..
