Fantastic numbers from only a pulley and tune. I'm still getting around these silly MB Mod prices compared to other platforms. However you must pay to play![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Just so i understand this process better
You get a remote tunning device
you hook it up to the car (how?)
then conect to the net and they do the rest?
is that it?

Hi Zod. LET will set you a Genuis (hand-held device) and a DELL mini notebook.
You plug in the Genuis to your OBD-II report so that it takes a copy of your current ECU file. Then you connect the Genuis to the mini-book and it gets transferred over the internet to LET. While you are on the phone with them, they will modify the file and re-upload it back to the internet, to the minibook, to your Genuis. Then you take the Genuis and "upload" the modified ECU file to the car.
DONE!

The tune for 6cyc Mercedes is $600 and the tune for 8cyc is $800. Then the custom tuning is $100per hour and you pay for dyno time.

Had a run with a stock cls55 today and lost ( I'm the one with the 172mm pulley and custom tune). The scenario was as follows, I was hammering the car to this guys house after driving around for the better part of two hours, when I arrived at the guys house I was telling him about my tune and what not, my car dynoed about 470 and his was 420 on an AWD dyno. He took my car for a spin, he was on it hard I could hear her screaming her lungs out, when he got back he said he wanted to see the difference between stock and tuned, I have 20" wheels so does he (hre's) but mine are quite a bit heavier, I had a passenger (he was alone), my car was just run hard whilst his car was just waking up for the day and to top it all off I had my a/c on full blast he had his windows down a/c off. I got walked twice, it was pretty disheartening to be beat by a stock car, in the quarter I would have lost by maybe 1-2 cars. I guess the moral of the story is that all '55's aren't created equal, there are some true hp freaks out there, either that or the aforementioned facts played a bigger role than I figured they would.

wow, that is disheartening.
im just brainstorming but, perhaps you need to try again when your engine isnt so hot.
did u notice a loss of power? maybe the supercharger got cut off due to the heat.
the car's ecu will do that when it gets too hot in there.
another possibility is that your CM30 is failing or u may also need an IC upgrade for better cooling.
with those hp/tq numbers and mods i dont think a stock cls55 should be able to beat u despite those conditions.

I'm, not sure what it is but after the guy took it for a spin it was definitely hot, I could hear him from a couple blocks over, when I got home and parked the garage reeked of gasoline, I'm assuming that these cars will dump extra gas into the cylinders when the engine gets too hot in an attempt to cool it down. The cm30 seems fine it was a hot day here in Miami, without the cm30 I know the supercharger would have shut down.

$999 for the 172
$1099 for the 180
The numbers really show the value of the dyno tune!

Yeah that doesn't make any sense unless you were heat soaked and here in Florida after running it hard like that it had to be the case run him again in equall conditions same amount of passengers and make sure traction control is off and your in sport mode and select the gear right for the speed before you hit it.

Also if he dynoed 420 rwhp on a mustang dyno or something of that fact he could be 440rwhp or so and he didn't have any heat soak vs your car. Looking forward to hearing back on this.

When I had my first car, I tried to take on someone with the same car, but with a lower trim. So it was 170 HP vs 140 HP. To make things more interesting was that he had 3 occupants in the car and I only had myself.
Long story short, he still won! I can't explain why!!!
Maybe it was my driving.

Hey Justin I don't want you to misconstrue what I am saying and think that I'm unhappy with the results, quite the opposite I am very happy, SOTP is worlds better than it was before, thanks again you really busted your hump to get this done for me.

You need a Heat Exchanger for repeatable power.
The car will fall down as IATs and coolant temps rise.
I would recommend a Heat Exchanger and Star 10*c mod for your setup.

This does show my argument of bigger pulley = no good consistancy
for the drag where u get one or two runs in and ice it down and let it cool off...then maybe
but back to back on the streets seems to show different results
now if his car was stock this enforces this
going for the big numbers is not always best...
Here is the TEST
Tell him you want to run him again, when your car is cooler and see if everything is alright:
If you do not pull him then I suspect he is not stock
IF you do pull him do 3-4 runs, and from that you can calculate how much the heat and back to back runs kills the car
This way you know where you stand, would liek to hear feedback on this

In all honesty I think even with the stock pulley I would have lost power, it was a very hot day (89 degrees) and the car was driven very hard. When the car was being tuned it was run hard 5 times within an hr with no initial cool down period and still made decent hp. Zod what you are saying I agree with somewhat that's why I chose not to go with the 180mm pulley.

Let's get that heat exchanger on the car! And if you know someone at Mbz get the -10deg mod done. Also PTE on this board is from Florida port saint lucie he makes the 160deg thermostats I'm about to get one for my car myself. I've never floored my car more then 2 times within an hour drive and have a HE so havent had this heat soak problem.
