or seen it done? I'm wondering about a little more of a stealth look. These are the wheels I'm talking about:

I don't think they will clear the calipers.

I don't think they'll clear the calipers either. And you'd probably want to change the rubber, too, to match the performance character of the E55 (which is a lil different than an E350 or 500 )

How can you tell when a wheel will clear the calipers on a 55?

It all depends on the size of the rim and the offset as far as I know. I *think* those E350 rims are only 17" which means it will most likely having a hard time going over the caliper.

On another note- those are IMO the best-looking non-amg rims that mercedes makes. I think the E350/550 with those rims actually look really good. If I wasn't a horsepower junkie, I think I'd have an E350 or 550 with those exact rims.

Ummm

I just realized it was your thread. I gave you my input regarding both vehicles there, did you miss it?

If there's any specifics you would like, feel free to PM me. I spent the better part of a year driving both before I made up my mind on which I wanted to keep; had me looking like a damn fool to my neighbors for owning two of the same cars.

Come on now- you can't REALLY compare those two!

Prius looks like an experiment gone wrong. They are absolutely hideous.

Why can't you compare them? They both have seats and a steering wheel, no?

wheels

i fessing up, i am currently running my dads e350 wheels on my e63. They fit fne and clear calipers. Let him borrow my wheels. They look pretty good on the car. The 18's have the same offsets as my stock e63 wheels

The wheels I'm considering are 18-inch diameter. The rears are 9-inch wide and the fronts are 8.5 inch. Actually wider than the stock e55 wheels (8 inch) but the offset is different.

Keep in mind that when you switch to these your front track will narrow about ~5/8". This is based on AMG offset of 30 and these being offset 38.
