Nice... How's the leather and feel compared to MP Design?

If I didn't have my MP design, I would've ordered one already.

On a side note, I didn't follow your issues w/ your car... did FJ finally take care of your problems or someone else?

I got that info today by PM. I asked for a approximate receipt date but I'm still waiting for their response.

How hard is this to install? You have to bring it to a body-shop? I ignored this thread but decided to read it now. WOW! It does look nice.

Mine showed up today for the SL65...The tuner that does all my work commented on the good construction, which is good since he pretty critical about everything.

He said he was surprised at the tight construction (stitching and wrapping) of the steering wheel and it was cool how they flattened out the bottom.

Nope...just showed up at my office at lunch, then drove over to my tuner house and handed it to the owner. They have got the car for the 1st of 3 stages of mods...

I really like the feel when driving. Is much more comfortable than the slick skinny wheel. Have to get used to the flat bottom on those bigger turns though...lol.

I'm confused..... is this an actual authentic Mercedes part with a Mercedes part number or an aftermarket designed product?

The steering wheel looks great by the way, congrats.....

From my understanding, they use a stock E55 or SL55 core and refab it...so I guess it's a hybrid.

What is the core exactly? Is that the airbag?

Correct, they use a factory steering wheel. Make it flat bottom and redo the padding, preforations, and stitching. Works with your existing airbag if you get the proper wheel.

I'm sorry if I'm asking too many strange questions here, it's just that I've been thinking about this for a while, but been very hesitant..... Okay, so when you say "Make it flat bottom", do they cut the steering wheel and attach a flat bottom? Is there anyway this can be done without using the old core or anything from my old steering wheel at all?
