You can get it without sending them your original wheel...just will cost you more as they give you a discount for your original wheel (they need these original wheels to keep making new ones). I don't mind sending them mine back as the oem wheel from E55s are horrible.

And yes, I assume they would have to cut off the bottom and attach a flat piece.
