Cover fully lifted off. Here is the W212 E63!!!
Tiny pic with no links to larger pics, but autocar claims this is the real deal.
http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsAr...Class/239192/#
In a nutshell.
518hp, 465 Trq, 7 speed wet clutch...
Handling dept
To improve handling, the E63 AMG has been fitted with a newly developed front axle with more negative camber, a 56mm wider track, new control arms, a tubular stabiliser and revised wheel bearings. The rear axle also has extra negative camber and a new subframe mounting for greater stability on the limit.
New front spring struts improve responsiveness, while the rear air struts have automatic level control to keep the rear at the same height irrespective of the load.
***edit to correct even LESS torque that I typed. It was 465, not 475

I hope the strut brace I'm getting done does some good. Other than that, looks like they are making the car even less mod friendly. If those aren't McPherson struts, adding more negative camber at 4X4 height is just gonna hurt when you lower it for proper handling.

I like the new front and front quarter view. Although the side profile is rather pedestrian. Rear taillights look Japanese-ist. I like the muscle curves over the rear wheel, between the wheel arch and door handle. I think these design character points will look great upclose and in real life.
Powerwise, I'd like to see something more significant tho...

torque figure is okay.. as long as the gear ratios are aggressive.. unlike the current 7sp auto.
We all know the M5/6 lack of torque of the line.. but its does not need anymore when screaming to 150mph..
The car is what I expected from MB with this economy.
I hope their next engine is the 5.4L TT.. with this transmission. or 5L TT. If not, it will be time to switch to the M or RS.
Force induction is a must in the upcoming years.

Ken down at my dealer told me that the 7 Speed wet clutch is a trip on the sl63's.
On flat surface, you can have the car in drive and she will sit still with no brakes. Nail the gas and WHAM.
Not sure how that works, but sure sounds cool.

while it defintitely looks better than all the renderings up until now, the power plant still has me trying to figure out how to import an rs6.

Not bad. I don't care for the taillights but the rest not bad. I do like the placement of the shifter versus the non-AMG column shift 2010 W211.
I am curious to see if they will offer pano roof, carbon interior, Bang & Olufsen sound option, P30, louder exhaust similar to Sl63, C63?

2004 E55 AMG
what merc did was build a nicer car. is it enough for me to let go of my 55....eh nah. the performance is on par for the stock format. I hope that merc takes the ferrari approach and start shedding weight instead of building bigger engines. merc didn't want to make an investment with a crappy economy so they instead dressed the car up.
I really want to see what BMW does with the M5. the clock is ticking for the new milege standards. Will they let Audi take the win with 580? we'll soon see.

Are those the CL63 reps off Ebay I'm sport'n on my 211? Love the interior upgrades, onboard with the front/side but rear still kills me. Specifically the bland placement of the tail light.

There is no wow factor
I thought the improvement to the c63 was awesome. It gave a sports sedan a struly aggressive AMG look. I don't feel the wow factor(exterior) looking at the pics.
Why not include the C63 AMG grill? It's an AMG sports sedan. This coming from a potential E55 owner. I'm gonna miss the SLK dearly but family duty calls.
Love the interior.

Pretty damn sexy though it would've been nice if they squeezed more HP or went to FI. I don't think E63 owners are too conscientious about fuel mileage. They wouldn't be driving a 6.3 litre if they were!
I would like to see a white W212 E63 canned with a set of HRE M40's or BBS LM's...
Outside of that there's some really nice upgrades to the rest of the vehicle. I'll give it a

I'm not impressed.
the power numbers are pretty disappointing, but at least they put in the same transmission as the SL63.
the front looks good, the rear looks like a Lexus and the front quarter view makes it look like a giant C63.
