***Chicago MB Pre-Season Dyno Day / Meet 2K9 - APRIL 18th, 2009***
#28
If you are planning on adding any mods to your car down the line it never hurts to have a good baseline stock dyno run, this is the best way to gauge the progression of your mods. Just a thought, but if they have room or time have them throw it up there and make a few pulls.
Have fun guys, as I mentioned before I can't make the 18th, I am leaving for Miami on Friday morning and then off to Grand Bahama from there. Please post numbers.

I wish I could find SOME car to stuff a V12 into. My wife might notice my car sounding very different if I did that to my car. Not to mention it would probably tear the 210 apart. But it would be damn fun! Any CLS owners out there that are up for an uber-mod?

LADIES just a heads up - I had a family affair come up that will require me to duck out around 11:30 - and I will return around 3:30 or so. While I am gone Nick will be baby sitting and keeping the peace. I'm not sure what's going to go on afterwards yet, but we have a number of options depending on what everyone is in the mood for.

I will probably bring the SL. The E55 is already at CPT. I'm still not sure which one is going to get strapped down, since I have recent numbers from both cars.

Well, it looks like I'm going to miss this event as the service manager just left me a voicemail message informing me that my vehicle isn't done. They're waiting on a flange that was supposed to be delivered this morning. "Steve will call you on Monday to give you an update on your E55. If you have any questions before then, please give me a call." Somehow I knew this would happen. Guess I will see you guys at the next meet. It just wouldn't be the same if I showed up in the '08 C300 4MATIC loaner. Nice car, but I need some acceleration!!!

I wish it was at Loeber or MB of Chicago but unfortunately it's at Concours in Milwaukee. I'm pissed because they've had the car since Tuesday. But I guess it's not their fault the part didn't arrive when anticipated. Like you said, I should come by so at least I can put some faces to names. Since you mentioned bikes, maybe I'll ride my Mongoose Californian BMX from when I was a kid....it has just about the same acceleration as the Merc loaner I'm driving! LOL!

2004 E55 AMG
See you there!
Hey, new member here. Just picked up a silver '04 E55 last week and have been loving every minute of it! I've been into american muscle all my life(hence my username), but there is just something oh-so-appealing about a sledgehammer wrapped in an unassuming 4-door body. I've been reading thre forum religiously, and it's a fantastic resource. I'm sure I'll meet some awesome people tomorrow!

I had a great time at this event and it was nice meeting all you guys. Thanks for organizing this Marcus.
alumar: awesome Kleeman C55...hope you get your air/fuel issues resolved.
ENDSMTG: your car is very clean...thanks for showing me the secret compartment .
J200I: stock M6 sounds great...thanks for showing me all the "race" settings for the M cars, now I know what they are talking about when people mention M mode, p500, EDC, and DSC.
nick 55: your wife's 335 looks great!
brian(Kleeman s600): very clean s600...distronic is a must!
Peter: thanks for showing me some photography tips
As for my dyno numbers I got 464.3 rwhp and 525 rwtq. At first I was kind of disappointed because I thought I was supposed to be around 500 rwhp with the VR600 package, but was told it was a great number on a dyno dynamics dyno. Al @ CPT said it was the highest Non-NOS 55 motor on his dyno.
Contemplating if I should order Vadim's midsection pipe...

Guys on behalf of myself and CPT I wanted to thank everyone for coming out. We had some great cars and great weather, so I'm glad it all worked out. I know some of you were a bit disappointed to find out your cars weren't making the power they were supposed to, but again, that is the reason for having a dyno day - some guys are running great, and others have work to do. This gives you the tools to make the necessary adjustments.
Again thank you all for showing up, we will be having another meet soon. I want to also apologize for having to run but unfortunately that is the way sometimes things work out.
Rodney - as someone who's personally dyno'd half a dozen cars on CPT's dyno, and seen many many more, I'd be over the moon with those numbers. My car is probably the best car to compare yours too, and if you look at my build thread I made roughly 30rwhp less than you did, so the TB and Headers that separate us are definitely working. Your trap speed is no fluke and you have quite a monstrous E55. 465rwhp is stock 65/tuned 600 territory on a dyno dynamics. Very good numbers.
