TEXAS MILE !@#$%^&

OK here is the news I just found out about the tune in my car the day I ran at the Texas Mile. As most of you know I have the RENNTECH block tunner, This small block plugs into the OBDll port and installs my tunes, well, I have a 100 & 91/93 tune... We had the 100 tune upgraded to remove the 186 mph limmiter. I did the math for some time and my car should have went very close to 190mph, Wellthe 100 tunes were deleted when the new file was installed. SO

Here is what happened,,, No 100 octane tune
Nitrous not working do to wrong tune
wrong octane gas for the tune

What does this all mean?
It means that my beast should run what I thought it would
This is just the begining...........

This car is a BEAST oh and never get hotter than 98c oil temp..

Just out of curiosity, how are you projecting the near-190mph run? How much does your car weigh? How much rwhp with the nitrous? Are you able to be on the bottle more than 15 seconds?

+1. A new ZR-1 didn't hit 190 If I remember correctly. That car traps in the 130's in the 1/4.

I checked over at corvetteforum and the only numbers I can find are two stock ZR1's, one at 181mph and 184mph. If that's true I think 177 is damn impressive for a land yacht like the CLS63.

I agree I think 177 is incredible for a 4500 lb car full interior. I was suprised considering what some of the lighter just as powerful cars achieved

Yes you are right.. TEAM AMG did well and better than alot of the Z06's and Vipers... The thing is that this was also done on 20" Vellano wheels and a 91 tune.
I went faster than alot of the cars that would leave me in the dust at the 1/4 mile drags,,,, But when it come to hi speed and comfort CLS63 takes the day.. Jangy you are right SAME FCKING SHT WITH THE TUNES lol...

Guys TEAM AMG has yet to run at full POWER remember 91 tune on 20"vellanos... over octaned on a hot day. and still

you aint seen nothin yet...

Here are some Standing Mile numbers from a June 2006 issue of Motor Trend Target Z06 Issue.

Accufab Ford GT 720HP - 194mph in 27.2 seconds
Hennessey Viper Coupe 1100HP - 218mph in 26.2 seconds
Lingenfelter Corvette 1000HP - 212mph in 27.2
Livernois Mustang GT 840HP - 174mph in 31.1 seconds
MTI Pontiac GTO 900HP - 193mph in 28.3 seconds
Stock Z06 505hp - 174mph in 29.3 seconds

note: the mustang would have been faster but a .25 retaining clip broke letting the cam sensor move north , which in turn broke off a valve cover cap which led to 4 qts of oil get on the rear tires at 170mph

Your going to need about 900hp in order to reach 200mph in the standing mile.

185 is more than enough for me in a mile Now 200mph thats no problem but not in a mile.... One handed with the A/C on and blasting the stereo...

Other than the tune and different wheels...any other mods? spoilers, lowered, etc?

I’m interested in the handling inconsistency at higher speeds

BTW...been watching your progress and I must say

Keep up the good work and hang in there

Very good question,, YES, the hight of the car is most important, I did higher the rear a bit to get the rake effect. At 160 the car was very light in the front when level, as in no steering, 1" or 2 up in the rear and all was well. So a rear rake at high speeds is recommended..
