I personally have a Code 3 Performance one and I LOVE IT. They get my vote. With supporting cooling mods, I have yet to have the blower shut off. EVER.

imho, they all work above the efficiency of the i/c so any one will be fine.

I believe this to be true as well.

Here's my $.02:

I should add that they're not "made" for Mercedes applications, but they can be made to fit pretty easily.

Any of them should do the trick, LET, Code 3, and the ones from other tuners as well. It's best to put in the Johnson CM30 Pump and also do a Thermostat with -10 mod as well. Better cooling=better and more consistent operation for the 55K Cars.

those are for cobras and lightnings.... those are not wide enough. My bros cobra has the afco one and it works great but 55's have alot more room there so get a bigger one.

Check www.frozenboost.com and measure one out that fits best. Don't be surprised if wire ties are required for proper fitment. A shop can always weld mounting tabs if you need them.

I kinda figured they were slightly smaller, and I know they are for Cobra's but from what I've read, they work REALLY well. I've been trying to find measurements from the Code 3 units to compare size but nobody has been able to provide solid measurements. I know blackbenz is running one of these AFCO units and I imagine he's had good results

What is a thermostats with -10 mod? I know a lower temps thermostat can be put in (same as my procharged z06 running a 160 tstat.) But what degree tstat run on the 55k cars, and better yet what is the -10 mod?

via STAR DAS you can program the aux fan to come on 10 earlier than it is supposed to. in other words the temp threshold is lowered by 10 degrees

I believe it's a 160 T-stat. Many members got it from a guy named "PTE" on the forum. It's a stock modified T-stat and many have it without issues at all. They tag the part as the PTE 160 Thermostat. Couple it with a -10 degree fan mod and you're running much cooler.

That one for $180 looks pretty appealing.... will it fit in my CL55? 26X7X2 or 27X7X3.5? Is 7" too tall? Think Code3 are 5.5" tall, so maybe the max is 6"?

another issue on the frozen boost h/e is that the inlets and outlets are female. so you will have to get a barb to turn them into male which may reduce the ID on the inlet and outlet.

Hopefully blackbenz will chime in, he's using an AFCO unit right now.
