W211 AMG Discuss the W211 AMG's such as the E55 and the E63

Bad situation, need some advice

Congrats on having a fully functional E55! What did Rusnak do to fix the car? I almost bought my wife a car from South Bay and the dealer tried pulling some shady tricks at the last minute and I walked out on them. They'll never get my business again.

Rusnak did some tests and found that something was wrong with the secondary fuel pump. Engine was starving of fuel. Also the IAT was a bit high. They bleed the cooling system.

After all the trouble, and having me pay for CPO warranty on a CPO car, Southbay will never receive any future business from me or any of my family memebers/friends.

BUT! It's time to enjoy!

So without the SC, the 5.5 AMG engine still have 350Hp and 391 Torque right ? it should have the same power as a W210 AMG right ?

the engine is a 5.4L based on the old w210, but has a lower compression ratio due to the Force induction.

arund 300hp and 350tq... like the old 5L (500) engine.

Also, having higher IAT's will start killing power... therefore one can have a semi working IC pump and the engine is receiving high IAT's temps.. this will equate less than stock performance levels.

Congrats... glad it all worked out.

I guess this should be a cautionary tale to others. If it's a CPO car, you DO NOT have to pay for the 1st years extended warranty. Mercedes covers that as a CPO vehicle.
You DO have the option of additonal years after that, and it's HIGHLY recommeneded you do just that.

I believe that my car had that same fuel pump problem with the previous owner. The car is a real dog when the blower doesn't function, and I can only imagine the blower impedes intake flow considerably when the rotors don't spin.

One of the tuners determined it's more like 250 hp w/o working IC pump due to the flow restriction of the supercharger
