Clear Side Marker and Blub Type

Hello All,

I have just purchased a 2006 E55 and was hoping if you could answer a few questions.

1. I wanted to purchase the Clear Side Markers and wondered if you knew of any forum sponsors that sell them instead of having to purchase them from eBay and does it require the removal of the front bumper to change out?

2. Are their any OEM Clear Side Markers or are they all 3rd party?

3. What type of bulb is used?

4. Are they the same as the city lights used in the same housing as the high beam locations?

5. I believe they use the 2825 bulb so will the PIAA 168 Wedge fit?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Josh

It's 194/168 bulb. I got my pair from Ebay, it is of decent quality. There are two ways to change it, both ways you do not have to remove the bumper. You either use a screwdriver with a cloth and slowly pry it out from the outside, or youc an turn your steering wheels to one side, and get access with your hands by removing a portion of the inner fender liner.

Evosport sells the painted version of the markers which I like much better than the clears. You just tie down your bulb to the inner well and have the nice clean look:

Thank you for your install tip. I will order the Clear Markers from eBay since it seems no sponsor sells these.

When you pull the marker off, you will have to detach the bulb that fits in the marker and emits that ugly light. I just took the bulb and its wiring and thru the hole where the marker was is a place where you can tuck the bulb in and tie it down. This way you wont see the light at all and you dont have to replace to bulb or remove it and deal with a light out error.
