Thanks for the post, but if you are interested you still may be able to help out.
After we get an '09 CLS 63, we will need an '07 or '08 CLS 63 to lend us their car in socal for a day to read the ecu, the car would then need to come back a week later to have the ECU coded to see if we are able to turn on the throttle bliping. Good news for you is that I'm pretty sure you would get this software for free by letting us use your ECU for testing. I'm pretty sure this would all be done at Evosport by a Powerchip technician but I will have to comfirm that at a later date.

Please confirm the deal and I can get you a car. I went through VRP for my Powerchip work and they charged me $800 after VRP told me it would be free. No hit on you, but I would not want Powerchip to use my car for discovery if they do not reciprocate the favor. If I had it to do over, I would NEVER have let them have my car for 3 months and then charge me more than the current retail.

Disclaimers, since I have been loose at the mouth lately:

VRP in my case does NOT mean Vadim. It was at Tiajuanas and Powerchip and VRP were present when the "deal" was made.

I did not go through EVOSport, so that may change everything.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

LZH,

Did I read correctly that the SL65 BS has throttle blipping on the 5speed? Would it be possible to get this feature to the NON-BS SL65, if we were able to find an SL65 black to copy software from?

Wait!! Is this by ANY chance possible for the E55? If so, i may can get an SL65. How long is it needed? Would the tech be willing to come to SD to "copy" the file?

That is correct Marcus. The SL BS does have throttle blipping as well. I would assume that this new software (becasue that's all it is) will make it's way to most if not all the new AMG models. As far as using an SL BS to copy over to a regular SL65, I'm sure it can be one the same way. It would also stand to reason that this could be applied to the E55 as they share the same 5-speed IIRC. But, I don't think what you are referring to would work with the 63 platforms even though the actual process by which this might be accomplished is the same (codig ECU's). The only problem I see withwhat you propose would be finding an SL BS to use as a tester. Unless of course you know someone who has one and would be willing.....
Interested to hear your thoughts....I should also mention that Powerchip told me that the blipping ECU will have to be opened to read it.

LZH,

PM me. I have a few friends inside of MB who might be able to pull something off, but it would have to be QUICK. If we can get it to work for the 7G and 5-speeds, it may be worth a joint effort. I also think if powerchip is going to profit off this, it may require some "participation" on their end as well. I know it's not terribly hard to find an '09 CLS63, but the 65BS would be harder and the potential if the blipping could be applied to all 5-speed cars would be tremendous.

Are we sure that the transmission internals are the same for both the 65 BS and "regular" 65's?

Absolutely not, that's why this is going to be a process... but the benefits may make it worthwhile to look into.

Thanks Josh - Not sure if we can use a tuned ECU though, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for the offer !!
