Im looking at a 2003 Silver on bluish/grey E55 AMG with 51k Miles. It located not to far from me.. its looks to be a very clean car, no paint work or incidents. Runs and drives great. The guy wanted $24k . I think i can get it for $22k .

Besides the IC pump ( which ill replace as soon as i get the car). And the whole Hot day sluggish performance ( which i think ill throw on a Upgraded heat exhanger and maybe put Meth injection on the car) what else are common problems ? I really dont want to get into a car that has alot of problems... ive been reading up on here for a while and thats all ive really come across.

I dont drive like a maniac.. but time to time i do go WOT for some fun.

I am going to do some slight performance mods like a Tune,HE,pullies. Will this car take me to atleast 100k miles ?

Just wanted some real world advice from people who actually own these cars and drive them hard with high milage.

That guy is the third ad I've seen lately that tries to scare buyers with the warning that the expensive extended warranty is a "must on an AMG", as if they detonate at 50k miles like the Blues Brothers sedan.

Post a link. Without seeing actual pictures of car we really can't judge on conditions, but if clean seems like a good price. Mileage is conservative. I'd say if no problems in history go for it.

I don't see why you'd have a problem making it to 100K miles considering it has the more robust 5-speed auto with the 5.5L engine, both two fairly bulletproof parts of the E55. Make sure you do whatever you have to do to get an extended warranty because as I'm sure you know Benz service can get pricey.
