I went back to WIS, hoping a fresh look will help me find it, no luck.
In "Remove/isntall fuel rail with injectors" it just states "Release fuel pressure via service valve" and has a clickable number: 119589046300, but that just leads to torque specs for the fuel rail.
In "Remove/install cylinder head" it says "Release fuel pressure through service valve"

119589046300 appears to be the part number of the hose which sits between the fuel line and the rail.

I think I found the valve, I'm not by the car right now so I can't look, but I think its a hex plug at the end of the fuel rail, which would make sense.

Hmm are you loosing coolant or is oil getting milky.
Let me know if you need a second hand while doing to work. Will be an interesting learning experience.

I am going to read the check engine code today, and test compression on a cylinder I didnt have time to look at before.
If I am confident that the head gasket is the problem, and if I can get a hold of all the parts and tools soon enough... like at the dealer tomorrow, then I will probably start this work on Sunday, and take Monday off in case I dont finish. If I dont start on Sunday, then the repair will have to wait for two weeks because I wont have time.
If you're free, an extra pair of hands would be welcome.

There is lots of steam coming from one of the tail pipes. Idle steady, engine temp steady, check engine on, compression appears to be in spec. This started happening just after I replaced the driver-side valve cover gasket, but nothing about that job can affect coolant or the head gasket, and a coincidence is possible but extremely unlikely, which is why I've had my doubts, but there are few remaining causes for the symptoms.

When you buy the parts from the dealership ask the parts guy if aldine collision has a shop account maybe you can get a discount.

You can just "crack" the line to relieve the pressure as it isn't very high. It's not a bad idea to leave a rag over it when you crack it so that it doesn't spray fuel on surrounding parts.

i need to release the pressure from my fuel rail... how would I go about using this valve? is there some special tool I need from MB? It looks to me like it works just like a valve stem on a tire... or should i just release the pressure via the inlet line?

well i said **** it and unbolted the inlet.. there's really no pressure built up, just gas in the rail. i collected it with a rag and all is well
