Just kidding of course. But after seeing the previews, pictures, and lurking hear from the W211 forum I have been thinking I should have waited for the E55 instead of buying my E500. Well, after just reading the latest Car and Driver I have just officially given myself one gigantic kick in the ***!! I mean, come on 0.3 seconds slower to 60 than a V12 Ferrari!! My wife would have never known either. She doesn't know the difference between a E500, E55, whatever. When I traded in my 96 E320 for a 98 E430 she had no idea after driving it for the first time. "Chris, is this the same car"? Yeah, why, "I don't know it feels much faster than the old one". "Gee, that's funny, I haven't noticed". Oh well, I guess the closest I'll get now is putting on AMG wheels and maybe a body kit. Hope no one from the 211 forum sees this. I'll lose my membership rights.

that's funny?

However, you will have to let the wife know it is a E55 because she may wreck it not realizing all the power it has or she accidently turned off the ESP.

A couple weeks ago I was fooling around showing off for a friend with the ESP off. Doing some tire spinning action and I almost wreck the damn car. With the ESP off the rear end is faster than the front and then the rear wants to take the lead. I was almost doing a sideways 'slid' or a drift. Whew! Just imagine the same mistake in the W211 E55!

cte 430,

I know where there are 2003 E55 slots at MSRP available in the midwest, so don't hate me. Email me if you have an interest.

peel out

I tried doing a peel out right before I changed my rear tires last month. Even with the ESP turned off, after what seemed like one spin of the tire, the light in the dashboard started flashing and it would not let me smoke the tires.
Is that normal or is my ESP refusing to give up control.

It depends if it is tooooo much spinning it takes control, I can spin all first gear, but you gotta do it controlled, in other words spin but don't spin too fast (hard to explain) just try spinning several times (it is only $600.00 in tires, and you'll learn a lot.)
