Best service manual

A new (to me) '06 E55 AMG owner here. I've seen some of the service manuals on ebay and may go with those but thought I would check for reccomendations here.

I'm not planning on doing any service myself other than an oil change, but I do like to "read up" on my vehicles.

Thanks.

The best deal, hands down, is the official Mercedes Star Service DVD. More info here: http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/o...stedDocId=9124

I've used eautorepair.net for several cars with tremendous success. Registration is fairly inexpensive and what I do is go section by section, article by article and "print" each one to a pdf file (or mdi. You have to select "printable view" or something like then and then click the box for "entire article"). I drop a copy of all of it on a USB stick and keep it in the car. Later on, if I am looking for something specific, I simply search for it using the "search" in windows, which allows you to search the contents of a file.

For example, my girlfriends check engine light came on this weekend. Luckily, I had the manual already saved for her car. Punched in the code into windows search, selected "search file contents" and found out that she had a evap system pressure leak. With the codes, it tells you exactly what you need to do to diagnose and repair. I found out that the long way that she left her gas cap at the pump and all she needs is a new one. Funny what the typical woman will tell you after the fact.

BTW, it also has all the technical bulletins, wiring diagrams, and tech data. For a week subscription, it costs 12 bucks for a week, 17 for a month, or 30 for a year. I normally do it for a month, then spend a few hours saving it off. Well worth the time and money.
