I wonder how light I could go, considering my car does not have any electronics that stay on, and it's only a 3.4 I6. I wonder if I could get away with the 6.6.... Damn that would be nice, instead of my 50 lb. Optima, plus my car is nose heavy, so this could be a potentially great mod.
It really is a great mod or upgrade depennding how you look at it. Yeah the Voltfreaks battery is crazy expensive! Thats why I followed the lead of some AD folk that got the Braile. Love it!
Not sure about the other MB's, but in the E63 the strap that goes around the stock battery is easily adjusted to fit this much smaller battery without any modification.

I have the Braille 15lb battery in mine and haven't had any problems. I like this battery better than the old odyssey battery I was using

What would you guys recommend getting if I need to use my rear reservoir tank at the track? I was thinking of getting the 15 lb. battery for the track and when using the rear reservoir to circulate the water I would hook up another battery...too much work? Any suggestions on how to handle this? I could get the 21 lb. battery but reducing weight wherever possible would be preferred.

How big is your intercooler pump? I dont know if the E55 uses the same kind of power as my CLK but I have yet to have any problems with mine. I don't have a ice reservoir but have a Johnson C090 pump

My rear reservoir is 3.2 gallons and is setup to run when the ignition is in the on position. I'm thinking of now getting the 17 lb. battery. What are your thoughts?

It doesn't really matter how big your reservoir is, it matters how much power your pump takes. Mine is wired the same way. Whether you choose anything between the 15lb and 21lb battery it wont really make a big difference in weight (6lbs is negligible) so if you are going to worry and stress with a 15lb battery in your car and feel safer with a bigger one then just go with the bigger one. 6lbs is not worth the stress IMO. I run the 15lb battery and haven't had any problems

Thanks Ahmad. BTW...I'm running a second CM30 pump for my rear reservoir.

FYI....

When you first hook this thing up, you're bound to see all sorts of failures on your MFD. I got warnings for ESP and cornering headlights. Plus my airmatic ran uber stiff. Twice as stiff as sport mode, and I even had my ELM turned off. I turned off my headlights, AC, NAV, and drove for 30 minutes. All problems solved. I guess they don't come completely charged from the factory and don't have enough juice to run all of the electronics.

Guys, my car still has its original battery and according to my tech, it is time to change it. The car does sit for a few days of the week. Is the 21lb best suited for me?

I was thinking maybe I can install a cut off switch if I park it for longer?

Thanks

Paul
