I recall how much I liked my CLK55 hence my desision to pursue another C-series AMG. My wife does not drive my cars and I've owned a lot of two seaters in the past (67 Shelby 427SC Cobra, 69 Corvette 427 roadster, 90 Corvette ZR-1, 82 911 P-turbo, 89 P 944T to name just a few) so she's use to my "car insanity". I had an opportunity to buy a Black Series from the same dealership I recently purchased my replacement 07 SL55 from but they talked me out of it. I wonder why? Now I'm on a quest to locate and drive one to see if it's what I want. I'm wondering if it will drive and feel like my former M3 and M5, or will be even more "over the top". If it is, I'll buy it on the spot. As far as my SL55 goes, it's a wonderful car and light years ahead of my totaled 06. I'll keep the SL for "clear, blue and 72" weather. It's an aviation phrase. There was also a recommendation that I test a standard C63 so I'm going to do that too. For those of you in the NVA, DC and MD areas I agree there are very few AMG's around and I almost never see one. We're a rare breed here which I believe keeps our resale values up a little more than other parts of the country i.e. supply and demand. Anyway I'll keep you posted on my search for a black series.

Alexandria, VA here. If u happen to get the CLK BS, I would luv to check it out sometime..

Found a fully loaded iridium silver (preferred color, matches my SL) for sale at a local Nissan dealer of all places, asking price is $83K with 7,800 miles. I think it's a good price and will check it out this weekend. They also have a used GT-R for $84K -

Test drove the CLKBS today and now I know why everyone raves about it! It is without a doubt the best handling car I've ever driven and I've driven some of the best! The exhaust note is to die for and the overall looks are stunning. But, it rides like a tank, it is comfortable but you feel every bump, it's a drivers car but not for daily driving, it's simple and basic and not sophisticated like my E and SL. However, I think it achieves exactly what it's designers intended it to do - handle like an F1 and take-on all comers. I wasn't too impressed with the performance and think from a dig my E and SL may have a slight advantage. That said, it's a GREAT car but I don't think it's the right car for me right now. Perhaps in a year or two when the prices drop further I'll reconsider.
